Space Logan is a series I created photographing the high contrast of colors and
design elements from a mural in Logan Square, Chicago. I find myself drawn to
intricate patterns of worn buildings, rusted metals, and the decay of peeling paint. The non-permanency of life and the lack of care to maintain what once was has
always fascinated me. The name Space Logan obviously comes partly from it's
location but also for the caricature of a monstrous robot depicted here.
The spaces that I photograph, I hope to
share the beauty I find that would normally go unnoticed.
